Our system was developed around the FTP (File Transfer Protocol) standard, allowing you the fastest and most efficient access to and management of your crucial files. We support SFTP, FTPS, FTPES and ALL FTP clients such as FileZilla, Fetch, and CuteFTP.
Web Based Control
Our web-based control panel allows you to manage and share your files online without having to download any software. Simply Log in and start managing and storing your files.
File-2-Email
Create a virtual link to allow users to download the file directly from the SmartFile system. This allows you to send any size file.

Backup Software
Need a way to automatically backup your files on a Windows XP, Vista, or 7.0 computer? With our custom SmartBackup utility you can have the important files backed up online to an offsite facility in case of hard drive or catastrophic failure.
Virtual Hard Drive
Connect your Windows, Mac or Linux computer to the SmartFile system via a virtual hard drive and you can easily drag and drop or copy, paste and share your files.
API Access
Our API (Application Programming Interface) allows you to integrate your online systems and ours. Add file sharing and management capabilities to in-house systems or automate business processes easily by using the SmartFile API.
Multiple User Types
We offer three types of user access (Administrator, Manager, User) to give you complete control over who can create, edit or delete users.
Unlimited Connections
We do not restrict the number of users that connect to your account. All of your users can be connected simultaneously.
Timed User Sessions
The TTL (Time to Live) feature allows you to grant user secure access to the SmartFile system for a pre-determined amount of time.
Advanced File Control
Not only can you define the files/folder(s) to which a user has access, but you can also set FTP and online file secure access rights to upload, download, move/copy, and delete.
Create or Unlock Zip Files
No need to download a zipped file archive to view its contents. Our online file manager (Web FTP) allows you to zip and unzip files directly from the SmartFile system.
Activity Notifications
Be notified when a user uploads, downloads, or deletes a file. Our flexible notification system even allows you to get notified via email when any user makes a change in a specified directory. Best of all, there are no limitations on the number of email notifications you can set.
Auditing & Reporting
Our activity reports use both graphical interfaces and detailed reporting to see who has done what in your SmartFile file hosting system.
rsync Capability
rsync is the ideal backup protocol - it only transmits the differences between a local and remote file, saving time and bandwidth. Our rsync access is via SSH on port 22, ensuring your encrypted data is transmitted providing key based authentication for unattended execution (i.e. from a backup job).
Custom Domain Name
By using your own domain there is complete transparency between us and your client. SmartFile supports either sub-domains or an actual domain. (files.yourcompany.com or www.yourcompany.com)
