2013 SmartFile Platform Bake-Off Launched Today

Bake-Off?!  It’s not what you think folks! We’re more interested in cookies  – the HTTP kind – than cupcakes! Techopedia defines a “Bake-Off as a competition among a group of people that all share a common goal.

The Goal: Win cold, hard cash by developing an open source web app that integrates with the SmartFile’s API.

Announced today, the ‘2013 SmartFile Platform Bake-Off’ is a first-of-its kind programming and design contest offering prizes to student competitors from Indiana colleges. Geared to drive awareness for both open source development and the entrepreneurial possibilities around SmartFile’s robust-API, the Bake-Off also promotes collaboration between Indiana businesses and statewide academia.

SmartFile challenges students to put their collaborative and creative technical skills to work when developing apps that are certain to provide real-business value. 50, two-person teams will compete for 50 days, but only three will walk away with the glory and green! With some of Indiana’s top business minds on the judging panel, SmartFile is providing the perfect ingredients for a new-fashioned Bake-Off — cash, coding, college kids, competition, and a tech battleground!

Represent YOUR school, expand your experience, and meet some likeminded people while competing for a chance to win big bucks! Registration opens February 1 and we’ve already received requests from interested students. So…HURRY up and visit the Bake-Off website to learn more, email us at bakeoff@smartfile.com, or tweet @SmartFile using the hashtag #SFbakeoff.
