To show our gratitude to SmartFile for Developers early adopters and survey participants, we’re highlighting projects that developers just like you created using SmartFile for Developers! We’ve had some awesome projects submitted so far and we want to share them with the rest of the developer community!

Today we are featuring Kissync, an open source desktop client that synchronizes files between any computers and the SmartFile cloud.

About Kissync

Kissync was created by Travis Cunningham during the 2013 SmartFIle Bake-Off Competition. The project is based on the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) method.

Kissync

In a nutshell…

This app easily stores files in the SmartFile cloud which means easy access from any computer. All you will need is your SmartFile account and login to access the files!

Neat, huh?

Travis has stayed in contact with SmartFile and we’re happy to share that Kissync is undergoing a major rewrite and is currently in development stages! You can read more about the current version of the Kissync desktop app in our Developer Showcase gallery. While you’re there, browse other projects (and submit your own). Make sure to check back often to see new projects and updated versions! You can also follow Travis (@travisc94) on Twitter! We’re excited to see what Travis has in store for Kissync!

How to get your project featured

Want your project to be in the Developer Showcase spotlight next? We hope so! Drop us a line here and tell us what you’re creating using SmartFIle and/or the SmartFile API. We want to feature a new project each week and we need your submission to do so. Feel free to submit as many projects as you’d like! Hogging the spotlight is encouraged.

Still don’t have a SmartFIle for Developers account? Really?! Well, then you’d better sign up for free here. Hurry, though … spots are filling up quickly! The first 3,000 developers to sign up get 100GB storage space, unlimited data transfers, and unlimited API requests.

What kind of projects would you like to see featured? Let us know in the comments below!

  1. Hi there, my names Taylor Brazelton and I want to thank Smartfile for crediting myself for the application, however after the competition I had to move back to Evansville and keeping in contact with Travis was unfortunately a rarity. The newest version of Kissync was fully modified by him since a few days after the competition. So please keep encouraging him to do his thing and hopefully I will be able to be back in the development at some point in the future; when I move back up into my apartment in Indianapolis again.

Good work Travis and SmartFile! Keep it up!

  2. No problem! Hopefully I can get back in steady contact with Travis soon enough so I can jump aboard with helping. But till then, he’s been a lone wolf this summer from what I know :)!
    Keep up to good work!
