University of Virginia
University of Virginia's students and staff use SmartFile for their academic file sharing needs.

To further delve into how file sharing can be used in a vast array of industries, let’s focus on education.  Universities want a secure way to share files with students, staff, vendors, etc. and a means to continue to market their school.  With massive amounts of student data, textbook information, and class schedules, it’s understandable that the ability to securely store and share this information is a necessity with such large organizations.  Of course, we’re here to help.

SmartFile supports SFTP, FTPS, and FTPES (click here to learn the difference), all forms of secure FTP hosting in which data encryption is used to protect login information from getting in the hands of hackers.  Also, FTP is great for sharing large files, such as large amounts of student identification data and scheduling information, for the convenience of saving time in the process of getting your file from point A to point B.  Lastly, obviously branding is a big deal.  SmartFile steps back and let’s your university take all of the credit by using your logo, colors, and even your own domain name instead of ours.  That way, you can continue to reinforce your identity to students and staff…Now, isn’t that school spirit?
