We’d like to introduce the newest member of the SmartFile team: Leah Beatty. Leah is our new Communications Manager and is in charge of all our communication internally and externally. So … what does that mean exactly? Leah is now running our social platforms, executing and monitoring email-marketing campaigns, creating and promoting blog content — and whatever else we throw at her!
Now that the technical stuff is out of the way, we asked her a few questions to help us get to know her a little better…
So, Leah, what are you the most excited about as a new member of the team?
I couldn’t be happier to join such a talented team! SmartFile has been on my radar for a while and now that I am one of you … watch out world! I’m super stoked to continue to grow my online marketing skillset. I can’t wait to get my hands dirty and optimize the h-e-double-hockey-sticks out of the website and all of our content. I’m also very excited to build the SmartFile brand and community. What the company is doing (and where we are going) is revolutionary and I can’t wait to spread the word! You heard it here first! SmartFile is the main jam when it comes to FTP/file sharing!
What do you expect from your experience here at SmartFile?
I expect to learn a lot and then some more. I’m a complete research nerd and that is going to come in handy; I am learning about a new industry and all the things that make it tick. I also expect to learn more about growing the SmartFile brand and everything that will go along with that. Here’s hoping I also grow my network with Indy locals (and beyond) – there are so many cool people in the FTP/file sharing industry and I want to meet them all! I expect to grow my presentation skillset, too, because everyone is going to want to hear about the awesome things our team is doing and accomplishing.
I played rugby in college. My position was ‘second row scrum’. For you non-rugby people, that means my job was to tackle (and tackle hard) anyone on the opposing team who was trying to protect whoever had the ball. I did all of this without any padding! I collect tiny things or what I call “littles”. My favorite pieces are a mom and baby giraffe I won at my friend’s baby shower this spring. They are so cute! And little! Some people have a sweet tooth; others prefer salty. I have a chicken wing tooth! I could eat chicken wings all day every day and never get sick of them.
