Meet Alex Kubacki, our newest Linux Administrator! He is responsible for supporting the infrastructure required for the SmartFile application and platform. This includes the beta environment and the offices computing resources … and anything else we decide to him in charge of!

We dragged Alex away from his duel-monitor command station to ask him some questions to get to know him better.

So, Alex, what are you most excited about as a new member of the team?

I’m excited to work in an environment that is the antithesis of a suit and tie and corporate work week! I can come in with helmet hair from riding my motorcycle to work, and work on something at 11pm at night if a brilliant idea happens to strike without worrying that my effort will go unrecognized because it wasn’t between 9am and 5pm. I’m also excited that we’ve been hiring more people recently so that I am no longer the new guy! Although, I still am somehow stuck taking care of the fish tank, which I was told was the “new guy’s” responsibility…

What do you expect from your experience at SmartFile?

I think being involved in a small business in the tech industry will involve a lot of periods of fast growth and demand me to be innovative. I expect to be inspired by coworkers and know that my efforts won’t go unnoticed.

Alright, let’s give the people what they really want. What are three fun facts about yourself?

I own three motorcycles: 1982 Suzuki GS550L, 2000 Ducati Monster 750, and a 2006 Honda CBR600RR.

I enjoy playing disc golf but have never got a hole in one.

I fall asleep easily during loud action scenes of movies, especially the Transformers movies.

SmartFile is excited to have Alex on our team and we can’t wait to see all the great things he’ll help us accomplish!
