When he was little, he dreamed of pitching for the White Sox (when he wasn’t quarterbacking for the Bears, of course). After realizing that he couldn’t do both at once, he sought out new opportunities in the world of sales.
Meet Tyler Snetselaar, SmartFile’s Director of Strategic Alliances and Channel Partnerships. From Colorado to D.C., our new hire has been all over the country building successful relationships with software and tech companies.
After graduating from the University of Iowa, Tyler knew that he wanted to join the software and technology sales industry. The excitement of an ever-changing, growing industry drew him to Denver, where he cut his teeth at an inside sales company.
A year later in late 2007, Tyler took on a sales position at a global company that provided performance management software for many industries, including IT, payments and communications. He helped to build up their channel and create opportunities that were beneficial for both his company and the resellers.
Soon after, he leveled up to enterprise sales at the same company. He moved to Washington, D.C., where was responsible for targeting and bringing on Fortune 500 companies across the Southeastern United States as well as federal agencies such as the Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
After relocating to Indianapolis to take on the North Central territory, he worked with and brought on increasingly larger accounts, including GM, Allstate, United Airlines and General Mills. To each company he worked with, he brought his skill in matching client needs with the technologies that would suit them best.
Taking on a New Challenge
Seeking another side of software sales and a new challenge, Tyler came to SmartFile to work on the ground level of a startup. “I wanted to work for an established startup, see the process of growth and scaling, as well as learn from [CEO] John Hurley.”
SmartFile is looking for global reseller partnerships, and Tyler will be laying the groundwork for Systems Integrators (SIs) and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to partner up with the SmartFile team. As he works to build our channel, he will focus on creating new growth opportunities by enhancing our current partner program with new initiatives and relationships.
For resellers, SmartFile has created multiple programs to help SIs and MSPs create recurring revenue while reducing the headache and stress of file management for their clients. We will also provide the documents and materials that help promote our platform, along with stellar support anytime resellers need it.
In the meantime, when he’s not finding new ways to build better margins and value for both resellers and SmartFile, Tyler enjoys traveling as well as taking on all sorts of athletic feats, including running, hiking, and skiing in Colorado. With a passion for channel sales and building relationships, Tyler will be a great addition to the SmartFile team.
